This is directed to the ladies..
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE TOLD YOU ARE GETTING 'FAT' OR ADDING WEIGHT OR GETTING BIGGER OR WHICHEVER?
Wait!!!!!!....before you rush to answer
1: would you still be comfortable standing naked in front of him?
2: would your morale still be as high as it used to be?
3: what would you be thinking when you catch him looking at you (*maybe in his head he's just appreciating having you*)
4: would you be happy that he is brutishly blunt?
Lets hear what you have to say....
PS: Men, feel free to comment...would you tell your partner/girlfriend?

If am getting fat (not sure I even like it when people use that word to depict putting on a few pounds) well I think it really depends on who is telling me. If it's my boyfriend then my answers are as follows:
1.I think it is only natural for me to feel self conscious after being told.
2. Definately my morale in terms of looks wouldn't be as high but I woudn't feel depressed becos of a few pounds.
3. I would think geese he is looking at my folds and my cheesy bum. lol
4. I might lie and say I would want to know but am sure when dressing up in the morning I would have noticed that my bum and all are getting bigger.
Many thanks taire!
well from a mans perspective i feel your letting her in on her current appearance depends on how much understanding and connection you both have with each other.personal i would tell her and rub in the fact that she would look nicer if she sheds some pounds
hmmm...ok sir, connection and understanding... and rubbing it nicely? wickid!
I'd rather he told me, i was putting on weight than saying-"babes, u are getting FAT"!
The next thing i'd do is to get my fat buttt to the nearest gym asap!lol...
Thanks aphrodite...sure your moral and rest wont be affected? (briefly?)
I can't speak in absolutes in this matter. But if i could try - it's never a good idea to tell a woman (whether you are a man or woman) that they are getting fat. You could tell her that her gluteus maximus is looking juicy and voluptuous and squeeze her jiggling bits lovingly. If she still doesn't get the point, then maybe comment about how both of you should get healthier.
People are really sensitive about their weight and what they look like, so I would be careful with that. But, to each his own...
Solomonsydelle: Lol..each to his own! many thanks for stopping by
first of all...I THINK IF I WAS GAINING WEIGHT I WOULD KNOW ALREADY....SO PLS....SAME GOES TO MY FRIENDS...IF I START ASKING U IF AM BECOMING FAT(personally i wudnt!!! cos damnnnnn!!!!!!!!)....IF U KNU WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOU ......DONT EVEN START THAT BULLSHIT..BITTER TRUTH CRAP.....just dnt say anything....FINISH!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! *CRIMSON KISSES*.....
P.S: no but really..i see some friends thinking they owe it to their friends to tell them such things...u only make the peson more self concious!!!!!!! I MEAN SOME BITTER TRUTHS..ARE REALLY gonna leave a foul taste to the mouth.....SO PLS REFRAIN FROM TELLING ME!!!!!!!!! MY FRIENDS KNU ANYWAY..MY FUTURE MAN WILL ALSO BE INFORMED!
P.P.S: hmm enigggmaa u promised ooooo....dnt leave me ooo like my mystery boy!!!!!!! *sob*
p.p.p.p.s: hope ur week has been stress free...greetings from koko! xoxo
i dunno..adding weight would prolly work better..but then if he is with me because of the way i look..thats not a good relationship anyways...:)
I think there is a way to do things with tact.
A man should NEVER straight out tell a woman she is getting fat.
Instead, he can hold on to the areas that are getting juicy and say she is getting a lil thickness or juiciness or watever. Just not fat!
It will ruin everything. Because we women think about these things....wayyy to much
Another way a man could do it, is just suggest working out together!
@koko: lol, you like to do gra gra! cool down for Jesus! thanks anyway..
ppppsssss: aint going leave you ;-)
@unwritten: thanks for dropping by, overlooking the scenario of him being with you cos of your looks..some women feel you're not being honest by not pointing it out that they're adding weight...its a difficult world o!
@naigeriandramaqueen: many thanks....there's no easy way to put it you know?, even suggesting that you work out together would still bring about that question...
i leave the rest to your imagination...
NO
NOO
NOOO
Women usually know because the clothes no longer fit as well...my advice is us TACT!!!...plus throw in a whole load of loving...and add a bit of encouragement...
consider heading to the gym together...chances are you've both added some weight as the relationship has gotten comfortable
1. by the time i get naked, I’m not thinking about what I look like...besides there are all types of sexy lingerie out there that can hide a multitude of sins
2. probably not...I would hit an earth shattering low if he kept on saying i was fat. i love him and all he can think of is my weight
3. awww he loves me just the way i am. besides he needs to go to the gym too and i'm not complaining
4. there is nothing kind about being 'brutish'. as the significant other he needs to know how to get the point across without damaging my self esteem...if not what separates him from any other tom dick or harry I could choose to sleep with.
Being a brute does not help IMO…she is more likely to turn to the cakes (or someone else) for comfort
Thanks shubby... still goes to say that there's no easy way to go about it
Straight up...baby you are getting fat! But mehn the shame will start to emerge in bits
as long she's ok with herself - no associated illness, no snoring and shish - and the right 'parts' are being 'amplified'...it's all gud with me, bro.
Mo' cushn' 4 tha pushn'.
Feel me?
i dont mind...i have been trying to gain weight for ages....so that for me would be a comlpiment.....
but me thinks if u are with a person u are totally comfortable with..he/she wont say it maliciously...and there should be no shame/anger involved just cos u gain a few kg's...u either decide to keep/loose it.....*wink*.....
@naijababe: its not as easy as it seems, when it comes with women's emotions...different strokes for different folks
@ynot: Nice one! correct yearns
@ibiluv: while some are desperately trying to lose, u want to add.. well said tho..

LOL...buahahahahahahha!!!!
This baba this is one of the reasons I am addicted to your blog...
I would be fine being told I was fat by a boyfriend. At the end of the day it's just an observation, and I would tell him if I didn't like a shirt he was wearing, or got fat himself, etc.. At the end of the day if he was my boyfriend he wouldn't be telling me I'm getting fat to hurt me so I don't see it as an issue. xoxo
Correction: Getting fat. I would not like to be told I'm fat! Lol who would. But yeah some tact yeah? Lol
This is exactly what I say...
"If you have gained weight I havent noticed...but darn even if u became a yokozuna...I'd be your yokozuna-man cuz baby...there's no other girl like you"
corny? I know...but the girls looove it
Rather than say anything. He should suggest healthy choices: Help her reduce stress that might be making her eat junk or at the wrong time or whatever, and go exercising with her. By the time he does that twice she would get the message and love him more for handling it with TACT!!!
I guess I'll like to know, just be sensitive about it.
i cuda sworn i left a comment on this post! oh well..
yea, he can tell me but not in those words...as bumight said, he shud do so wit sensitivity..
Absolutely!! Only because I have a very blunt personality and would probably "bae-what's up with your gut" him if he were having weight issues. Just like I won't want him to lie to me if I was leaving the house in an overly expressive colorful outfit lol
First time here courtesy of Parakeet. (nice blog)
